DIGITAL MILEAGE CORRECTION:

Modern cars have electronic dashboards with digital odometer displays. The car manufacturers use these because they are cheaper to produce than a mechanical dashboard and easier to fit into the car, as there is no mechanical speedometer cable.

This new technology has its own problems though, electrical pulses in the cars wiring can cause the dashboard data, which is stored internally on an EEPROM (Electrically Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory), to become corrupted. This corruption could happen for a number of reasons:

• The vehicle battery was discharged and the vehicle had been jump-started.
• The dashboard may develop an electrical fault.
• The dashboard may be damaged in a collision or through vandalism.

In these examples, the corruption of the information held in the EEPROM may mean that the mileage displayed on the Speedo is now incorrect. Dashboard correction may also be necessary where a replacement cluster has been purchased, either new or second hand. If it’s a new one it will have zero miles on it.

If its a second hand one the mileage displayed is also likely to be different to the original thus requiring correction.

MILEAGE CORRECTION SERVICE:

We are offer a service that cannot be matched by anyone else because We have invested in the latest hand held equipment specifically designed for mileage correction. Most cars are easily calibrated without the need to remove the clock cluster. More importantly this process cannot be traced.

LEGAL:
Adjusting a vehicles digital mileage / odometer is not illegal. It only becomes illegal if you knowingly sell the vehicle without disclosing the correction in the Speedo reading.

He'd bought a new(second hand) ECU, which we paid for, but when this wouldn't work refitted the old one refunded the cost of the ECU and would only take the diagnostic charge. The reality is he might not always be able to fix the problem however he is as honest as the day is long. I would strongly recommend him.

I tried numerous mechanics, non could help. Either not interested or no idea what to do. Then I found Sid at Diagnose-a-car... He spent hours trying to find the fault & eventually he did. He has the patience of a saint. The outcome was a replacement electrical circuit board (& everything that went with it) & a New battery. Sid just plugged away at the problem until it was resolved. I can't Thank him enough for his time, patience & kindness in fixing my car as I honestly thought it would be scrapped. It has resulted in the best driving experience for about 2 years, especially through the summer when 9 times out of 10 it wouldn't start. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this miracle mechanic....  Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have a warranty with Bristol Street Motors in Leicester. My Skoda Fabia lost it's dipped main beam. BSM in Leicester couldn't fix it. They sent me to their main Skoda in Derby. A whole day. Still couldn't find the problem. Diagnose a car came bang on time today. Tested everything and concluded it was the light switch. Bought one from a scrap dealer for £10. Fitted myself. Lights on! So much for main dealers. Thanks guys. I can drive my car at night now!
